Winter Studying Challenge
5th January - Would you rather live in a world where it is always winter or always summer?
A world where climate is normal 🙃
6th January - What is the weather like during winter in your country?
Sometimes it snows, sometimes it rains. Sometimes the sun is shining and you’re convinced that it’s quite warm outside but it is not and the air is sharp. Usually it’s cold, below freezing kind of cold.
January study challenge
why did you choose your major, or if you’re still in the process of choosing (or if you haven’t even started), what’s your thought process in choosing one?
I would like to be able to combine Computer Science and Philosophy.
are you an early bird or a night owl?
A night owl!

@stu-dna January Study Challenge
Oh wow, here we go, first real post of my studyblr! I should probably make an intro post at some point but that’ll wait for later.
Day 1: What did you achieve last year? What are you setting out to achieve this month? This year?
So, last year was really transitional for me in that I made a lot of huge decisions but can’t put them into action until this year. So last year I managed to go to Costa Rica and begin my meditation journey and also start getting a read on how I’m going to become “that” girl in my life, you know? I also learned that I’m okay with letting go of control but I’m to addicted to distractions and bad habits that ultimately bring me down. Overall, I got a great starting point for who I am and what I want out of life last year.
This month, I tried to set goals that would improve me overall instead of just in one area or the other.
Physical goals: I want to comfortably touch my toes without any pain or bending my knees or rounding out my back.
Educational: once the term starts I’m going to officially become a research assistant.
Mental: I’m going to meditate at least 5 times a week.
Financial: I’m paying off one of my student loans and learning more about the stock market.
Personal: I’m applying for 5 different jobs, all in Europe!
Over the course of the year, the biggest goal I have is moving to Europe! I want to start a new life in a new continent and completely change my surroundings. My dream grad school is in Scotland, so I’m taking steps to move there! I have a couple goals in terms of weight-loss for the year, but I’m not sure if sharing them would be a good idea, since everybody is in a different body and I don’t want to accidentally share anything toxic.
Day 2: How are you balancing the holidays and your studies?
Since I’m not taking a j-term class this year I’m really taking the time to relax and organize my life. I love to read so I’m trying to finish off the Harry Potter series in one month (I’m already on book 2!) I’ll also do things like duolingo or khan academy (mainly their finance courses) or even touch typing classes online; it keeps my brain sharp mand my mind ready for class without actually burning myself out. I will say: my term starts on the 23rd so once that happens I’m going to be posting a lot more about classes and uni life.

january study challenge – 06 – are you an early bird or a night owl? (by @stu-dna)
Perpetually tired pigeon?! Maybe this needs some elaboration.
Work-wise, I seem to be a night owl but I do love being awake early in the morning. My sleep rhythm has me asleep between 2 and 10 am, so overall, night owl it is!

|Day 10 of January Study Challenge| c/o #stu-dna challenge January 10, 2021 - do you / can you study at home? how do you keep yourself focused? I do not really have a choice but to study at home given that it is pandemic. I easily get distracted when a thing passes through my mind or when I remember something random. There are also times when I end up already daydreaming while studying, even without noticing it. Keeping myself focus is an obstacle but I am compelled to do it anyway, so when I get distracted, I try to study interactively. I recite the words, I read aloud and stretch, and see if a piece of information is retained in my mind. I made a graphics using a Canva template to share how I attempt to keep my focus by studying interactively.

1.4.21
Happy New Year everybody!
I’ve taken the first three days to reflect on the last year, and think about what I want to focus on this year.
what did you achieve last year? what are you setting out to achieve this month? this year? I achieved a lot last year. I brought my GPA up to a 3.1 after struggling the year before really bad, earned $15,000 scholarship for the improvement, was able to attend the local private university I’d applied to, and now have a 3.9 GPA at that school. I worked more consistently and balanced than I ever have before, asked for two raises - and got them both- and was able to actively save while going to school fulltime. Time management and prioritization was previously my biggest weakness, and now I think it’s one of my strong suits. I worked 6 months of the year with H&R Block as a tax pro for my first season, and stayed for the extended portion and learned so much. Zach and I have made a lot of process on wedding planning, and even have been preapproved for a mortgage, and contacted a realtor. I’m so proud of myself, but more so I’m so proud of us, because we are a team, and I fully believe that he’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. This month we’re focusing a lot on fitness - we’re actually going to be checking out a lot of local gyms to try and choose one (or not). The challenge for me, is less about picking a gym membership, and more about getting us - yes this is a partner project too - motivated and moving. I’m less concerned with loosing weight - though I’d like to - and focusing more on taking care of my body and feeling good. If anyone has any advice or recommendations let me know! This year is mostly about maintaining the good habits I’ve built this year- time management, saving money, keeping my grades up - and introducing some new ones - mostly fitness and health related. We’ve been cooking at home more, and I’d like to work on portions and healthy options.
how are you balancing the holidays and your studies? I’m lucky enough to have a break from school for the holidays, though I officially go back in two weeks, so I’ve been focusing on non-study related things now - like the wedding and some other to-dos so that I can focus on my studies when they start back up.
do you tend to make new year’s resolutions? how well has that gone for you in the past? I don’t tend to make new year’s resolutions. two years ago I did, but I didn’t see them through very well - in fact the semester after I wrote them was the semester things completely fell apart. I tend to make goals throughout the year, since then. More frequent check in, even without them written down, has worked well for me. I’m trying them again this year because my mindset has changed a lot in the last two years, and I think this will be much more successful.
tv shows / movies you’re watching right now? Right now, I’m rewatching Supernatural, though this is Zach’s first sit through. I got back into it with the drama of the finale, and it had once been such a huge part of my life that it felt important to introduce him to it. He’s officially hooked, and I’m falling back in love with the Winchester boys.

@stu-dna January Study Challenge!
I had a lot of time to journal today! I have a lot of notebooks and journals that are actually working pretty well for me this year. In total: a weekly planner from lavendaire, the 2023 artist of life workbook (also by lavendaire), a personal journal for the end of the day, and a gratitude journal for about 2 minutes of cursive/gratitude practice every morning. I’m also thinking of starting a manifestation journal to help wit my practice. And here’s an obligatory pic of my cat who takes naps on my chair and stares at birds with Murderous Intent on my desk. Also peep the workout bands and massage ball chilling on my desk.
3. Do you tend to make new year’s resolutions? how well has that gone for you in the past?
Yeah, sort of? In 2020, I had goals that I wanted to reach and every year since then I stuck to that. I don’t have resolutions in the “I will workout every day for a year!!11!!1!” type stuff, instead I do “I want this body and to feel this level of health by the end of the year.” This means that I have to develop those habits in order to reach those goals. In the past, when it came to resolutions, they typically died off in about a month or (in one really embarrassing case) less than a day. I’ve found that journaling and writing down habits over resolutions has been a lot more successful. I’ve got a lot of habits this year, actually, I might’ve done too many? But they’re all things that successful people who I look up to do pretty frequently, so if they can do it so can I!

day 10/100
january study challenge: day 7
after you have finished using your notes, like after the exam, what do you do with them?
after exams, most of my teachers allow me to totally clean out my binders, so i throw everything but dividers and notebook paper away. loose leaf notes that aren’t very pretty or notes that my teachers give me i throw away. notes i make myself in my new notebooks i will keep, and if i make any loose leaf notes that are pretty, i have a binder to store in for future reference or future studyblr posts!
my first day back was really amazing! all of my teachers were in good moods, and we did a bit of vocabulary in my classes while carrying on conversation. had i a lovely chat with my Biology teacher on how the assassination in Iran will affect our future as American citizens and it was very enlightening. i also had a fun cultural activity to celebrate the New Year in Spanish, and went over a topic in Geometry that was one of my favorite Algebra 1 topics! my previous teacher was amazing so everything stuck in my brain! also learned in English that we are preparing to study Greek mythology and the Odyssey! i’m so excited, especially because i am finishing up the Iliad and already read Mythology by Edith Hamilton!
i also found a good college today to look into, Texas Woman’s University. it sounds ideal, i just need to research further into the law school they offer. i recently have changed my ideal major into that, as i would have many choices to choose from, am good at debates and remembering facts, have always had an interest in the history of law, and have had several people suggest that i become one. tell me what your thoughts are on all this! i want to begin applying for scholarships and colleges my junior year so even though i’m only a freshman i am already thinking of it.
have a lovely day, sorry for the long post. thank you if you read all of that!

I've been only working the last days so I can just share pictures of my planner with you!
❄️ Winter Studying Challenge ❄️
6th January - What is the weather like during winter in your country?
It can be quite cold in Germany although it's not snowing a lot. However, we did have some snow the last night!
7th January - Do you like the cold?
I do, as long as I'm dressed accordingly. I love for a walk in the cold dressed in a fluffy pullover and a warm coat.
8th January - Where is the coldest place you’ve ever been to?
I think the alps are the coldest place I've ever been to for skiing.
✨ January Studying Challenge ✨
6. are you an early bird or a night owl?
Both! I stay up quite late and like to get up early.
7. after you’ve finished using your notes, like after the exam, what do you do with them?
I'm a real hoarder when it comes to my notes. I usually keep them, at first just in case I didn't pass the exam and have to take it again. This (thankfully) hasn't happened yet, but you never know. Afterwards, for physical notes I just store them away in a folder where I keep all my uni stuff. My digital notes are all saved on Google Drive. When the semester is over, I also hard copy everything on the drive to an external hard drive.
8. opinion on snow??
Loooooove it!
